Allison Charney

Soprano Allison Charney made her New York City Opera debut in the 1994-95 season as The First Lady in The Magic Flute  and returned that season as Musetta in La Boheme. The following season Miss Charney returned to New York City Opera singing Musetta in a new Production of La Boheme, The First Lady in The Magic Flute, and Frasquita in Carmen .

During the winter of 1996, Miss Charney sang her first performances as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro  with Memphis Opera in a debut with that company as well. At Summer Opera Company in Washington, D.C., Miss Charney sang her first Alice Ford in Falstaff  during the spring of 1995.

Recent engagements for Allison Charney include a return to Summer Opera Company as Norina in Don Pasquale . With Metro Lyric Opera, Miss Charney sang her first performances as Nedda in Pagliacci  under the baton of Anton Coppola.

Upcoming engagements for Miss Charney include seven performances as Liu in a new production of Turandot  with Florida Grand Opera (formerly Miami Opera). With Nashville Opera, she repeats one of her favorite roles, Musetta. With Annapolis Opera, Miss Charney will sing her first performances of the title role of Madama Butterfly . During the 1997 spring season with Chorus Pro Musica in Boston, Miss Charney repeats her Nedda in Pagliacci .
