Jennifer Blades sings the role of Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor at the October 16, 2010 Hopkins Symphony excerpts concert and in Opera Vivente’s October/November 2010 full production. Ms. Blades’ most recent role with Opera Vivente was Second Lady in The Magic Flute. The Peabody Conservatory graduate serves on the Peabody faculty and at Anne Arundel Community College, and is artist-manager of the Mt. Vernon Voices. She is on the faculties of the Opera Vivente Academy and the Lyric Opera of Baltimore’s Opera Camp. This past summer she also served as faculty member and stage director for the Little Patuxent Opera Institute. This December she reprises her original show, Desire, Despair, Deceit, and Delight: A Holiday Cabaret, at the Cabaret at Germano’s. Next February, she revives her show My Funny Valentine at Don’t Tell Mama in New York, and she directs a Peabody Chamber Opera double bill of Trouble in Tahiti and This Is the Rill Speaking. In March, she soloes in Cantata No. 170 with the Bach Concert Series.
