Frederic Rey

Canadian tenor Frédéric Rey sings the role of Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the October 16, 2010 Hopkins Symphony excerpts concert and in Opera Vivente’s October/November 2010 full production. Mr. Rey has appeared with Opera Vivente as Lucano/Liberto in Monteverdi’s The Coronation of Poppea and as Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. With Sarasota Opera he appeared in The Stars of Tomorrow Opera Gala and Apprentice Artists in Concert, and he covered Monostatos in Die Zaubeflöte. He was Mr. Cat in Rossini/Zytowski’s Pinocchio with Opera Theatre of Northern Virginia, and tenor soloist in Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Nelsonmesse. He has also performed with, among others, Baltimore Opera, Southern Delaware Choral Society, Washington Savoyards, Opera AACC (Anne Arundel Community College), Washington Concert Opera, and Wolf Trap Opera Company. Mr. Rey completed his B.M. at the University of Western Ontario, M.M. at the Peabody Conservatory, the 2006 Lake George Opera Apprentice Program, and the 2010 Sarasota Opera Apprentice Program.
