Vitaly Briskin

Vitaly Briskin was born in Russia in 1986 into a family of professional musicians. He began studying violin at the age of four with Klara Berkovich, and made his first public appearance while still four years old. At the age of seven, he won first place in the Maryland State Music Teacher’s Association competition, and when he was eleven, won second prize in the 19-and-under age group at the Solo String Competition of the Maryland/Washington D.C. Chapter of the American String Teachers’ Association. In 1998, Vitaly performed Vivaldi’s “Winter” in concerts with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Vitaly has participated in music festivals in Tarrytown, New York, and Tours, France. He is a student of Leri Slutsky at the Peabody Conservatory Preparatory Division. In 2000, he participated in the BSO benefit concert for the Junior League of Baltimore.
