Vikki A. Jones
Soprano Vikki A. Jones makes her first Hopkins Symphony appearance at this concert. The Maryland native and former violin student holds a B.A. in Music from the Catholic University of America. Her recent roles include Mimi in La Bohème, Poppea in Agrippina, Lauretta in Gianni Schichi, another Lauretta in La finta giardiniera, and Pamina in The Magic Flute. She has appeared with the Baltimore Opera Company, Opera Vivente (Baltimore), the Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore, Opera North of Philadelphia, the Maryland Lyric Opera, Concert Artists of Baltimore, and the Baltimore Symphony. She has performed as a soloist for churches and cathedrals throughout the U.S., and currently tours as a soprano soloist for the National Spiritual Ensemble (formerly the New England Spiritual Ensemble). Ms. Jones took first place in her category in the 2000 Leontyne Price Vocal Competition. She is known for her “rich and warm sound” as well as her “brilliant coloratura.” Ms. Jones lives in Baltimore.
