Viacheslav Dinerchtein

Born in Belarussia, Mr. Dinerchtein immigrated to Mexico in 1991 where he began an array of different musical activities. He has frequently appeared as an orchestra soloist as well as in recitals in Mexico and the USA. He has also recorded works for viola and piano. He was heralded as a “very talented young violist whose playing is always convincing” by Gustav Meier and as “a gifted performer with an excellent sense of communication” by Timothy Baxter from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music in London, England. In 1997 Mr. Dinerchtein was a guest soloist at the Bach International Festival in Peru. His recent performance of Bartok’s Viola Concerto with the IPN Symphony Orchestra in Mexico City has brought him great acclaim from both critics and audiences alike.

As a chamber musician he has performed with numerous chamber ensembles, including “Camerton” with which he has appeared in the most important halls in Mexico and has recorded various quartets by Mexican composers. In 2000 he took part in several concerts at Carnegie Hall as a Principal Violist of the New England Symphonic Ensemble.

Mr. Dinerchtein studied with his father, Boris Dinerchtein, who has guided him throughout his youth, enabling him to receive in 1996 a Licenciate Diploma with distinction from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music in London, England. In 1997 he was awarded a full scholarship to the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he received a Masters of Music degree with the celebrated viola virtuoso Mr. Joseph de Pasquale.

Mr. Dinerchtein is a 3rd Prize winner at the 2000 Yale Gordon Competition for Strings.
