Toni-Marie Montgomery
Toni-Marie Montgomery, pianist, has been in many performances in the Baltimore/ Philadelphia area. She played a solo recital on the Lois. J. Wright Memorial Concert Series and has appeared with the Lansdowne (Pennsylvania) Symphony. Dr. Montgomery has continued to perform in the Midwest. Last year she was part of a duo recital featuring music by Black Composers given at Western Michigan University.
Dr. Montgomery has received many awards including the Outstanding Young Women in America Award, Helen P. Neuman Scholarship at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, and the John Wolaver Memorial Scholarship (University of Michigan).
Dr. Montgomery became the second recipient of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano chamber music and accompanying from The University of Michigan in 1981, and graduated magna cum laude from the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts in 1980. Presently, Dr. Montgomery is the Assistant Dean of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut.
