Lisa Weiss

Pianist Lisa Weiss is Associate Professor/Chair of the Music Department at Goucher College, where she has been for the past 14 years.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, her master’s degree in music from the Yale School of Music, and her doctorate at the Peabody Conservatory, where she studied with Leon Fleisher.

Ms. Weiss made her debut at the age of seven with the Boston Pops, Arthur Fiedler conducting. That was followed by subsequent performances at age 9, 11, and 15 with the Pops. She returned to perform a Mozart concerto with the Pops at Boston Symphony Hall under John Williams in the summer of 1999.

In 1987, Ms. Weiss made her New York debut at Merkin Hall. She was a frequent guest pianist with Baltimore Chamber Music Society, and a frequent participant in Goucher’s Ars Viva Series, which promotes new music. She has performed with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra (Mozart K.233), the Goucher and Frederick Symphonies (Brahms 2nd), and makes regular recital appearances at Donnell Auditorium Concert Series at New York Public Library.

Ms. Weiss has served as guest orchestral pianist with the Baltimore Symphony, and is currently principal orchestral pianist with Annapolis Symphony.

In 1999, Ms. Weiss gave a solo recital at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation under the auspices of the Peggy and Yale Gordon Trust. This coming June, she will be giving a solo recital as part of a concert series in Sorrento, Italy.
