John Brandon
John Brandon sings the role of Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor at the October 16, 2010 Hopkins Symphony excerpts concert and in Opera Vivente’s October/November 2010 full production. Mr. Brandon appeared as Littore and Seneca’s Companion in the Opera Vivente production of The Coronation of Poppea. This season he performs the roles of Antonio (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Morales/Danciaro (Carmen) with Nashville Opera, and Antonio (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Opera Columbus, and he joins Nashville Opera’s Mary Ragland Young Artist Program. During 2009-10, as a member of Opera Santa Barbara’s Young Artist Program, he performed Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette). He has also appeared with the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre, International Opera Theater, and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Opera Theater. He earned his degree in voice performance at Westminster Choir College, where he performed the roles of Marco (Gianni Schicchi), Toante (Oreste), and Siméon (L’enfant Prodigue).
