Freda Herseth
Mezzo-soprano Freda Herseth, a native of Washington state, is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound and of the Eastman School of Music, where she was the winner of the concerto competition. Her repertoire extends from Medieval and Renaissance music to the avant-garde. Recent concert engagements include several premieres of new works, a tour of the Midwest, concerts at Lincoln Center, and numerous oratorio performances. She has recorded vocal chamber music with the Naumberg Award winning vocal quartet the Liederkreis Ensemble, of which she is a member. Ms. Herseth has recently signed a contract with the Stuttgart Opera, which she joins this summer. In her first appearance with that company she will be featured in the highly-coveted role of Cherubino.
