Thomas Gallant

Thomas Gallant is an award-winning artist who is quickly emerging as one of America’s finest young solo performers on the oboe. As First Prize Winner of the 1983 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, he was presented in a highly successful New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall. A native of Illinois, Thomas Gallant is a graduate of Indiana University where he was unanimously awarded the prestigious “Performers Certificate” in 1978. Recently featured in High Fidelity/Musical America as an outstanding talent to watch, Mr. Gallant has been a member of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, the Chautauqua Symphony, the New Orleans Philharmonic, has appeared at the Spoleto Festival in Italy, and will make his London recital debut in 1986 at Wigmore Hall.
