Richard Field
Richard L. Field is currently principal violist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and a faculty member at the Peabody Institute. Previously he was principal violist with the Buffalo Philharmonic, and before that associate principal violist with the Denver Symphony.
Spanning the years from 1968 to the present, Mr. Field has appeared as soloist with major orchestras across America, as well as performing in solo and chamber music recitals and radio broadcasts. He performs with the Rowe String Quartet at the Garth Newell Chamber Music School and Festival in Virginia, and regularly performs as soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In his most recent appearance with the Baltimore Symphony in October of 1982 he performed Strauss’ Don Quichotte together with cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Mr. Field will again appear as soloist with the Baltimore Symphony in Paganini’s Sonata per la grande viola e orchestra on May 25th in Frederick, Maryland, and on May 27th in Salisbury, Maryland.
