Fernando Mancillas

Fernando Mancillas is a native of El Paso, Texas. Most recently, Mr. Mancillas has appeared as Tenor Soloist with the San Diego Choral Artists as well as Artist in Residence with the Ash Lawn-Highland Opera Company. He has performed the roles of Alfredo in Die Fledermaus, Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, the Prince in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges, King Ouf in Chabrier’s L’Etoile, and Alfredo in La Traviata to critical acclaim. Mr. Mancillas has also been featured as Apprentice Artist with the Santa Fe Opera Company (1990-91) and Tenor Soloist with the Temple University Combined Chor and Orchestra, La Mesa First United Methodist Church/La Mesa, California, and El Paso Pro-Musica. Mr. Mancillas received his B.M. from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1987 and M.M. in Opera Performance from the Boston Conservatory in 1990. He is currently enrolled in the D.M.A. program at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
